It is the best of both worlds. The king masala, a classic Indian recipe that is hard to find, has been mixed with a new take on the old staple, the pot pie.
The recipe starts with a buttery crust and then a layer of ground beef and carrots, then a layer of sauteed onions and garlic, topped with a layer of chopped spinach and an egg. Finally, the pie is topped with a rich, smooth gravy made with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cumin, coriander, cardamom, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
